Kailua-Kona is one of the most desirable locations on the Big Island, and now there is even more reason to visit the west side of the island if you’re vacationing here, or scouting for a home or investment property.
Magic’s Beach Grill
Along Ali’i Drive is where you’ll find Magic’s Beach Grill, once a food truck operator and now in a newly renovated space right on the beach! Executive Chef Dan Robayo said his staff wants to show off what the Big Island has to offer – and that those who come in should expect to be wowed. Magic’s Beach Grill is enjoying rave reviews not only for its fabulous fare, but also for the spectacular view.
Kona Brewing’s founder and former president Matson Davis is the restaurant’s owner, and Robayo says the establishment uses the freshest ingredients in creating unique menu items, procuring the produce and other ingredients from up to 60 local farms.
A few of the most popular menu items include the ulu fries, Kimchi Reuben sandwich and Kimchi Gumbo, which is created using Portuguese sausage, organic free-range chicken, fresh fish caught locally, okra, and kimchi. Other favorites include main courses such as Misoyaki Kanpachi and Lemongrass BBQ Ahi.
Whether for lunch, dinner, or Sunday brunch, Robayo says he believes food is communal and that sharing a table along with great food makes the world a better place.
This is the way it is in Hawaii, a culture rich in the belief of sharing with others and making friends wherever you go. Hawaii is not a destination, it is a lifestyle.
